Dr Rakesh Verma is the Founding CEO of the AeonMed Health & Hospitals - a firm specializing in Healthcare Quality & Patient Safety and several other allied domains.
Dr Rakesh is a military veteran having served in Army Medical Corps (1991-2018) as a medical doctor and hospital administration specialist. Since 2010 he has been an assessor/surveyor for hospital and healthcare accreditation programs of NABH, QAI. Concurrently he also serves as Program Director for RFHHA and has implemented several quality and patient safety learning programs. He currently the Chair, Accreditation Committee and Board Member, QAI, Co-Chair Technical Committee for QAI Hospital Accreditation Standards.
He was part of Govt of India committee for development of National Occupation Standards for Health Sector.
He is visiting faculty in the domains of quality and patient safety and hospital administration at several universities and institutions – AIIMS, Jammu, IIM, Jammu and Chitkara University. He is also an empaneled consultant at AIIMS, Jammu. He has successfully implemented simulation learning systems. He also serves as Principal Consultant, Healthcare Facilities – Planning & Design with JHPIEGO with pan-India role and has planned / designed over 2.2 million SqFt of healthcare space across 14 states in India.
With his expertise in healthcare quality and patient safety, he has helped large number of hospitals achieve accreditation.
He is a established speaker on quality and patient safety and regularly conducts learning events in these domains.
Dr Verma holds medical degree and Masters in Hospital Administration from India’s top institutions AFMC, Pune and AIIMS, New Delhi. He is also member of several prestigious professional organizations - Quality Council of India, AIMA, India, AHA, India. To pursue his interest in high altitude physiology has recently co-founded Indian Society of Hypoxia & Mountain Medicine. He has published research on costing in healthcare systems, chapters in books.
He is a graduate of Armed Forces Medical College, Pune and All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi.
